Welcome back to Term 4, we hope you enjoyed a nice break over the holidays even if the weather covered all four seasons. There are quite a few things happening this term so keep the following dates in mind.

Sat 17 Oct: General Election – Voting booths will be available at school

Tues 20 Oct: Board of Trustees Meeting – held at 7pm at school

Mon 26 Oct: Labour Day

Fri 6 Nov: Book Character Day and Quiz  – Page & Blackmore will be displaying and selling their books from 11am at the Lodge. Because of COVID restrictions around the world, Page & Blackmore can’t guarantee books will be here by field day if they have to order them in so they are recommending books are chosen from their current stock. In order to assist with this and ensure children don’t miss out we will be sending home their latest catalogue and encourage you to have a look at their website (https://www.pageandblackmore.co.nz/) and make your book choice early (Note: the BGAC committee contribute $15 per child for a book to be gifted at Field Day). While the option is there for you to choose early the children will still get to go see all the books and make lists of their preferred choices which we will share with you.

If you do want to choose early please use the spreadsheet linked below to let us know of your choice.

The Book Quiz will be held on Friday night at the Alpine Lodge at 6pm.

Wed 11 Nov: America’s Cup – Genesis and Emirates Team New Zealand will be coming to school to share the America’s Cup with us. The timing of the event is still to be confirmed but please add it to your calendar so you can join us on the day.

Mon 16 Nov: Sailing NZ – Sailing NZ will be at school to take the seniors out for sailing lessons on the lake.

Sat 5 Dec: Field Day –  Field Day information sheets should have gone home already but is attached here (Field Day Poster 2020) for those that don’t have it. The photo competition will be run in conjunction with Rural Women’s photography competition and children can enter three categories, people, nature and macro. Your children can either bring their photos to school or you can send Dominique a digital file for printing and we will enter them into the competition for you.
